The number of calls to Wisconsin's handgun hotline -- the line firearm dealers must call to register a gun -- set a record in February, with nearly 16,000 calls. So far this year, the hotline has handled more than 53,000 calls and is on pace soar past the number of calls in 2011. Wisconsin is right at the center of a national trend.
