Hibbing native Michael Colalillo died Friday at Bayshore Nursing Home in Duluth. Northland NewsCenter reports he was 86. He received the Medal of Honor after he spurred his company to attack a Nazi position fortified with mortar, machine gun and heavy artillery barrages. He also helped a wounded fellow soldier to safety.
