A Minnetonka man is in the hospital after being shot in the face, and police have someone in custody – his teenage son.

The arrest came after police and firefighters responded to a report of an "explosion" at the family's home shortly before 5 p.m. Monday, according to a release. Police say first responders discovered the man with a gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center in critical condition; however, he is expected to survive, police said.

A juvenile was found at the scene unarmed, and was arrested – the Associated Press identified the suspect as the victim's 15-year-old son.

Police say they are not seeking anyone else in connection with the shooting and that there is no concern to the public.

It's not known what led up to the shooting. It's currently under investigation.
