An elderly couple who went missing along with their grandson on Wednesday have been found dead, and their grandson has been arrested.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension issued an alert on Thursday after Wilbert (Willie), 93, and Gloria Sheel, 80, of Paynesville, Minnesota, were reported missing.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office has since confirmed that their bodies were found just after 5 p.m. in their 2011 Toyota Prius, which was located in Kandiyohi County.

Their 30-year-old grandson, who lived with the couple and disappeared along with them, was arrested about four hours later south of where the Prius was found.

They had last been seen at Teal's Market in Paynesville around Wednesday lunchtime, and it was noted the grandson failed to show up for work that evening.

Family members reported them missing on Thursday, after the Sheels missed an appointment and couldn't be found.
