Author:

Chris Simondet, the 30-year-old man missing since last Sunday, was found safe late Friday. Lt. Eric Roeske with the Minnesota State Patrol told Bring Me The News that police were called about 10:30 p.m. by someone who saw a man waving his arms on the I-94 frontage road in Oakdale.

Officers found the man in a parking lot near the Oakdale Denny's. A Washington County sheriff's deputy used a Taser to take him into custody. According to Roeske, Simondet suffered non-life-threatening injuries during the confrontation. He was identified when police brought him to Regions Hospital, where he remains for evaluation.

Diesel the dog was found Friday, according to Fox 9 News.

Family members told KARE 11 that Simondet has bipolar disorder and believed he was without medication.

Volunteers began combing Burnes Park in Hopkins around 8:30 a.m. Friday for the 30-year-old, a day after police asked for the public's help in locating him.
