A missing 24-year-old Hastings woman who slipped out of a St. Paul hospital in December has been found alive in Oklahoma.

Nikole Sherry, 24, was found by officers in Marlow, Okla., the Hastings Star Gazette reports. Officers who made contact with her entered her name into a law enforcement system that indicated she was a missing person, the newspaper reports.

“She came to the attention of law enforcement because of apparent concerns for her wellbeing,” Hastings Chief of Police Paul Schnell told the publication. “Officers responded and found her to be in good health and good condition.”

Sherry was last seen by friends and family at Regions Hospital on Dec. 18. Since then, she has been “traveling” and “drifting,” Schnell said, the Gazette reported.

Investigators believe she was staying with a man in Oklahoma who did not know she was a missing person.
