Missing Minnesota woman, 87, found safe in baseball dugout
A case of a missing 87-year-old woman from Nevis ended on a positive note this week after students spotted her in a baseball dugout, Detroit Lakes online reported.
According to the publication, Elizabeth VonBank was reported missing by her daughter Tuesday at about 1o a.m., which led to a three-hour search. She was found at approximately 12:45 p.m.
VonBank, who reportedly suffers from dementia, was believed to be out in the cold for several hours prior to being reported missing.
Authorities said a grocery store security camera spotted a person matching her build at approximately 3:30 a.m. Tuesday -- when temperatures were hovering around 17 degrees. The video footage revealed VonBank to be wearing pants, a sweater and shoes.
She was flown by a medical helicopter to a hospital in Fargo -- and is expected to be released in a couple of days, VonBank's son said.
