Missing swimmer's body recovered from Gervais Lake

The Ramsey County Sheriff's office announced Sunday afternoon it has recovered the body of a man who went missing the day before at Lake Gervais.

Reports say the man was trying to swim across the Little Canada lake with another man, when he disappeared Saturday.

WCCO reports rescue crews made it to the scene "immediately" after getting the call and searched on land, but switched to a "recovery effort" just hours later. A dive team was on the scene, searching.

Sgt. John Easthman from the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office told BringMeTheNews the search was suspended overnight for the safety of those involved and resumed this morning.

FOX 9 reports the man was in his 50s. No official identification has been made at this time.
