Missing woman in NW Minn. found in river, case ruled homicide

A Thief River Falls woman was found dead Sunday in rural Pennington County, and the case has been ruled a homicide. Tanya Marie Kazmierczak, 40, had been missing since Saturday morning. A 31-year-old Crookston man has been arrested in connection with the case.

Arrest made in cold-case killing of Cloquet woman

A convicted sex offender from Cloquet has been arrested for a killing 12 years ago considered one of the most high-profile cold cases in the Northland. The Minnesota Department of Heath says a fourth case of fungal meningitis has been identified in the state. The patient is a woman in her 70s. Two other Minnesota women, both in their forties, with the infection were released from the hospital last week and are being treated on an outpatient basis.

Woman found dead in burned car had Minnesota plates

Investigators in western Wisconsin are trying to unravel a mystery in a case they are treating as a homicide. The burned car was found Sept. 18, north of Norwalk, Wis. Investigators have determined the victim was not the owner of the 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix with Minnesota license plates.
