MLK Day: What's open, closed, scheduled
Martin Luther King Jr. Day is being celebrated on Monday Jan. 19. Because it's a federal holiday, many government offices and services are closed. But most businesses are open.

Ceremonies and services are on tap in several Minnesota cities to commemorate the civil rights leader's legacy.
Here's a list of some of those events:
Minneapolis:Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Breakfast; 7 a.m. Keynote speaker: Civil rights leader and attorney Vernon Jordan (Program will be broadcast to nine other locations around the area)
Minneapolis:MLK Day youth and family event; 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Powderhorn Park
St. Paul:Black Lives Matter "Reclaim MLK March"; 1 p.m.-5 p.m. Begins at University Avenue and Snelling Avenue
St. Paul:Governor's Council Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration. 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Macalester College, Leonard Center
Duluth:MLK Day march and rally; 10:45 a.m. Begins at 4th Street and Lake Avenue
Rochester:MLK Day Breakfast; 7:30 a.m.-9:30 a.m. Keynote speaker: Kedrick D. Adkins, Jr., chief financial officer for the Mayo Clinic.
St. Cloud:MLK Day Breakfast and Day of Service; 7 a.m.-10 a.m. St. Cloud State University
Moorhead:MLK Day activities; All day. Concludes with evening keynote speech by author and social critic Tricia Rose. Concordia University
