MN Supreme Court: Gauthier removed from ballot
Disgraced Duluth lawmaker Rep. Kerry Gauthier won't appear on the ballot, the Minnesota Supreme Court ruled Tuesday. The Associated Press reports the high court granted the Democrat's request to have Gauthier's name scrubbed and replaced by endorsed candidate Erik Simonson.
Simonson proceeded with his write-in campaign for Minnesota House seat District 7B after the first ballots with Gauthier's name were sent out last Friday.
Gauthier dropped his bid for reelection after having a sexual encounter with a 17-year-old boy at a Duluth rest stop.
