What better way to get back at the boys who didn't ask you to prom than by bringing your Harvard acceptance letter as your date?
That's what Priscilla Samey of Champlin High School did when prom day arrived, proudly sharing her choice of partner with a picture on Twitter that was retweeted 28,000 times.
"Couldn't find a man to accept me for prom so I took a college that did," she wrote, though even that sentence kind of undersells her achievements.
Because the 17-year-old from Anoka wasn't just offered a full scholarship to Harvard – she was also accepted to seven other Ivy League schools including Yale, Princeton, the University of Pennsylvania, Cornell, Columbia and Brown.
Speaking to Mic., she said she got the idea of taking her Harvard acceptance letter from her sister.
"She said, 'The best one [date] is all your college admissions,'" Samey told the website, and she figured that above all else, it would be a cheap date
"I took a date that was pretty low maintenance, so I didn't have to pay for his dinner," she added.
Samey, the daughter of immigrants from Togo, was featured in The Tab last month when she received her seven Ivy League offers.
Her Common Application essay focused on her upbringing in a low-income house, detailing her successes and the struggles of her father – a qualified doctor – to find work. You can read it here.
Her tweet got some pretty great responses too, here are some of the best ones.
