MOA expects 200,000 Black Friday shoppers; mall to bar unaccompanied minors

The Mall of America expects 200,000 shoppers on Black Friday this season, the Business Journal says, with more than 180 stores opening at midnight.

The Mall provides a list of stores opening early on their blog.

Getting in and out of the mall is half the battle. More than 1,500 guests a year call security to help them find their cars in one of the 12,550 parking spots. Now, a helpful reminder can by sent to your phone by text.

The MOA also announced Saturday that it would be tightening its Black Friday policies and will bar unaccompanied minors from the mall all day Friday and Saturday, Nov. 23-24, the Pioneer Press reported.

The ban on unaccompanied minors will also be in effect the entire week between Christmas and New Year's, a MOA spokeswoman said.

Once you've made it inside from the cold, the heat from thousands of bodies will make you want to ditch your coat. The Wall Street Journal says the tailor shop will double as a $1 coat check on Black Friday, with proceeds benefitting the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Salvation Army.
