More than 60 cats and kittens had to be removed from a man's Central Hillside home where he was attempting to care for a multitude of stray cats.

Animal Allies Humane Society says they are facing an emergency situation. The organization is offering no-fee cat adoptions to make room for the hoarded cats.

Three days into the season, hunters in the northern wolf-hunting zones had taken over 60 wolves as of Monday, the Duluth News Tribune reports. Research biologist for the DNR, John Erb, tells the newspaper that about 1 percent of hunters have been successful. In western states in the past, hunting success have been less than 1 percent.

Stray cats causing problems for businesses in Waseca

As many as 30 cats are roaming the streets and digging in dumpsters for food in the small southern Minnesota town. KEYC reports the cats have also cost a local lumberyard thousands of dollars in ruined product. Police say feeding the animals makes the problem even worse. The city is now teaming up with the Waseca County Animal Humane society to trap the cats.

Minneapolis police are consulting with federal agencies after a Longfellow Park employee discovered a dead cat Monday. KARE 11 reports the animal had been burned and staked to a tree stump with an American flag. A President Obama/Biden campaign sign was also nearby.
