Morning commute: Slick spots and slush after light overnight snowfall

Snow in west-central and southern Minnesota could make Wednesday morning's commute a bit of a hassle.

The lower third of the state got about 2 inches, give or take, essentially covering the roads for this morning. Here's a look at the highway conditions map from the Minnesota Department of Transportation. (Purple means a road is completely covered; blue is partially covered.)

The metro had a bit less snow, more of a dusting, leading to a partial covering.

The warnings this morning are to watch out for certain slick spots, and be ready to deal with a slush-filled commute.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation keeps a real-time report of crashes and road updates throughout the state on its Twitter feed. Click here to see it.
