Mom accuses website of stealing daughter

A Minnesota mother says she found her daughter in the adult classified section of Backpage.com, KSTP reports. The woman says her only daughter Mary is using the popular website Backpage.com to advertise as a prostitute. The St. Paul City Council passed a resolution calling on Village Voice Media, owners of the classified ad site Backpage.com, to discontinue the adult section of their online classifieds.

A Minnesota mother says the website Backpage.com lured her daughter away into what she suspects is a life of prostitution, KSTP reports:

Minneapolis is considering a resolution asking Backpage to shut down the adult sections of its classified ads. The Saint Paul City Council passed a similar resolution earlier this month, the Pioneer Press reported. Backpage says resolutions are not effective ways to deal with sexual trafficking and it does not have plans to shut down its classified ads.
