Motorcycle hits mailbox in Maple Grove, 1 killed, 1 injured


A motorcycle left the road and hit at least one mailbox early Tuesday morning in Maple Grove, killing a man in his 20s and injuring a female teen passenger, WCCO reported.

The crash was at about 3:30 a.m. in the 9200 block of Upland Lane in a residential neighborhood, the Star Tribune reported. The motorcycle hit several mailboxes, the newspaper reported.

The teen's condition was not immediately available. She was taken to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, the Pioneer Press reports. Their names were not immediately released.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash. It was not immediately known if alcohol was a factor, KARE 11 reported.
