Downtown Mpls. bomb threat suspect charged with felonies

Philip Pariso is facing two counts of terroristic threats and two counts of kidnapping. Police say the Inver Grove Heights man walked into M&I Bank in downtown Minneapolis on Friday and said he had a bomb. The threat led to the lunchtime evacuation of Gaviidae Common and surrounding streets.

Philip Pariso is facing two counts of terroristic threats and two counts of kidnapping, the Pioneer Press reports. Police say the Inver Grove Heights man walked into M&I Bank in downtown Minneapolis on Friday and said he had a bomb.

The threat led to the lunchtime evacuation of Gaviidae Common and surrounding streets.

WCCO-TV reports the station turned the suspect away earlier in the day when he asked to speak with a reporter.

Witnesses say a man entered the M & I Bank in the Gaviidae Commons in downtown Minneapolis and made threats. A man also allegedly made a threat to WCCO-TV.

The teen is accused of making a pipe bomb that was discovered in his mother's trunk last week while he was a patient at the hospital in Rochester. Authorities say the 3-foot-long device weighed about 50 pounds with gunpowder and fireworks.
