MSP among best U.S. airports for on-time departures
The Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport is third in the country when it comes to on-time departures, according to a new U.S. Department of Transportation ranking, Twin Cities Business reports. MSP ranked fifth on the 2011 list.
Nearly 88 percent of flights out of the Twin Cities left on time last year, the report says.
CNN says the Salt Lake International Airport ranked first on the list, with nearly 90 percent of departures on time. Portland International Airport, Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and the Charlotte Douglas International Airport rounded out the top five.
Earlier this year, travel research firm Skytrax ranked MSP No. 71 on its list of the top 100 airports in the world.
The airport was also fourth on a list of the 10 best U.S. airports for business travelers, which was compiled by Plymouth-based Travel Leaders Group.
