MSUM right spot to see Venus transit

Astronomy buffs are celebrating an event Tuesday that won’t happen again for 105 years. Beginning at about 5 p.m., the orbit of planet Venus will take it between the Earth and the sun, blocking out a small portion of the sun's light. Minnesota State University-Moorhead has scheduled a safe public viewing with telescopes and other special equipment.

Chad Stangeland told Forum Communications maintenance crews were making repairs to a sugar tank that may have sparked the fire on the fourth floor.
