A crash involving multiple vehicles early Wednesday temporarily closed the eastbound lanes of a Twin Cities area highway.

MnDOT says the crash happened in the eastbound lanes of MN 610, between the Coon Rapids Boulevard ramp and MN 47.

The road was closed to all traffic through about 6:20 a.m. Wednesday, MnDOT said, but both the Star Tribune and KSTP traffic tweeted just before 6:30 a.m. that authorities were getting ready to reopen the lanes.

It's described by the agency as a "multi-car" crash with injuries, though it's not clear how many vehicles were involved or the extent of the injuries.

The State Patrol does not have an incident report for the crash at this point.
