Jack Jablonski sits up, feeds self with help

The family of paralyzed Benilde St. Margaret’s hockey player Jack Jablonksi reports that the teen has sat up and is able to feed himself with help from a therapist. The family said on his Caringbridge page that there were “ups and downs” this week, however, they are incredibly proud of Jack’s determination and positive attitude during therapy.

According to family, the Benilde-St. Margaret's sophomore is getting stronger and will begin rehabilitation soon. Jablonski is sitting up in a specialized chair and moving his arms below the triceps. The 16-year-old hockey player was checked from behind during a junior-varsity game on December 30. Jablonski severed his spinal cord and fractured two vertebrae.
