Mystic Lake Casino Hotel begins serving alcohol
Starting Wednesday, Mystic Lake Casino Hotel will begin offering beer, wine and liquor, WCCO reports. Alcohol sales will first be offered in the Mystic Steakhouse, Meadows Bar & Grill and meeting and convention areas of the casino. It will be expanded to locations near the gaming floor over the next month.
The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community, which runs Mystic Lake, has received all necessary approvals from the United States Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Minnesota Department of Public Safety to begin alcohol sales, KARE 11 reports.
The Prior Lake casino has been a dry operation since opening in 1992. “Adding alcohol service and sales to our Mystic Lake experience has been the most requested feature by our guests over the past 20 years,” Mystic Lake said in a statement to the Business Journal. “We’ve studied the idea for several years by collecting best practices for safe and responsible service of alcohol in a casino resort environment.
