Nelson indicted on first-degree murder in fatal shooting outside of Burnsville bar

A Dakota County grand jury has indicted Anthony Lee Nelson on a first-degree murder charge in a fatal shooting outside a Burnsville bar. The 31-year-old is also known as Shavelle Chavez-Nelson.

The Pioneer Press reports that he was already charged with second-degree murder in the Sept. 22 death of 23-year-old Palagor Jobi. Chavez-Nelson is accused of shooting Jobi during an early-morning fight in the parking lot of Nina's Grill in Burnsville.

The first-degree murder charge carries with a sentence of life in prison without parole.

Chavez-Nelson's 24-year-old girlfriend, Ashley Marie Conrade, is charged with aiding him after the shooting and both continue to be held in the Dakota County Jail.

The Sun This Week reports that Nelson is also a suspect in the death of Anarae Schunk. She was seen with the two of them on surveillance video at the bar that night. Schunk's body was discovered in rural Rice County.

Neither Chavez-Nelson or Conrade have told authorities what happened to her.

No charges have been filed in Schunk's death. Rosemount police continue to investigate.
