New ranking puts Minnesota among least innovative states

Despite some thriving new start-up companies, Minnesota is only ranked No. 46 on Fast Company magazine’s ranking of innovative states and a state district.

The list is based on data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics on private sector businesses and an entrepreneurial index, as well as other figures.

Florida was named the No. 1 state for innovation, while West Virginia came in last at No. 51.
