New Wolves power forward Taj Gibson arrested in New York City

The newest member of the Minnesota Timberwolves was arrested in New York City early Thursday morning, TMZ Sports reports.

Taj Gibson, the new two-year, $28 million power forward for the Timberwolves, was picked up by police at 2:45 a.m. Thursday after making an illegal U-turn and arrested for driving with a suspended license. TMZ says Gibson was charged with a misdemeanor and released from jail at 4:30 a.m.

NYPD told CNN that Gibson has a court appearance schedule for Sept. 1.

The Timberwolves and Gibson have yet to comment.
