Earlier this week, someone broke into a Minnesota woman's home, trashed her kitchen, and tried to jump out a window when police arrived.

The suspect had a black mask and bushy tail.

Yeah, it was a raccoon.

In a Facebook post, Lakeville police said it was their "call of the week." According to the post, police responded to a reported home invasion. The homeowner awoke after hearing noises in her kitchen.

When she went to investigate, she found a 20 lb. raccoon had opened all the cupboards and made a huge mess. Startled, it took off into a nearby bedroom.

When police arrived, they found him "evading capture in a window."

The department joked that the raccoon was "safely taken into custody" but later released without charges "due to an illegal search."

We're still wondering how he broke in in the first place...
