A crash involving a school bus and a van in North Branch Thursday sent a 4-month-old child to the hospital.

WCCO reports the crash happened around 5:15 p.m., during a spring snow storm, near the intersection of Forest Boulevard and Crestview Drive.

When officers arrived, they found the infant seriously injured in the van. Luckily, no children were onboard the school bus.

Both drivers were treated at a local hospital. The infant was transported to University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital in critical condition.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
