North Dakota, Minnesota rank in top 5 states for entrepreneurs, study says

A University of Nebraska study puts North Dakota and Minnesota in the top five states that encourage the development of business entrepreneurs. The study, conducted by the university's bureau of business research, reflects states' entrepreneurship environments, growth in business formation and technical innovation.

A University of Nebraska study puts North Dakota and Minnesota in the top five states that encourage the development of business entrepreneurs, the Associated Press reports.

In 2011, North Dakota came in No. 2 behind Massachusetts. Minnesota ranked No. 5. Both states moved up several spots in the index since 2010 where North Dakota ranked No. 8 and Minnesota was No. 24.

The study, conducted by the university's bureau of business research, reflects states' entrepreneurship environments, growth in business formation and technical innovation.
