Five juveniles have been charged after a brawl broke out at North High Thursday morning, sending one student to the hospital.

WCCO reports three 15-year-olds and 14-year-old have been charged by the Ramsey County Attorney's Office with third-degree riot, a gross misdemeanor. A 16-year-old was charged with obstructing the legal process-interfering with a peace officer.

Two others, a 14- and 15-year-old, are still being held in the Ramsey County Juvenile Detention Center pending further investigation.

North St. Paul police tell the Star Tribune other students involved were released to parents and guardians. Up to 10 students could face charges.

One student was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The newspaper says the student was being monitored due to a pre-existing medical condition.

The motive for the fight remains under investigation.
