A man from Menahga in Wadena County is hoping to cash in on eBay with a potato shaped like a duck, Detroit Lakes Online reported.

Danny Haataja said he harvested the potato, which is about 6 inches long and 4 inches high, from his garden in October. Since then, he's kept it preserved in a brown paper bag in his refrigerator at 40 degrees.

The starting bid for potato on eBay is $99.95 with one-day shipping for free.

As of Friday night, there were no bids on the duck spud, but the auction runs until Nov. 25.

The potato's "publicist," Terry Bortle (Haatja's nephew), told the Detroit Lakes Online that anything could happen with the auction, considering somebody purchased an Illinois cornflake for $1,300.
