Northfield Historical Society thinks it may have found skeleton of James Gang raider

A forensic scientist says the skeleton exhibits "remarkable" similarities to Clell Miller, one of the infamous James-Younger outlaws who were thwarted by armed citizens when they tried to rob a Northfield bank in 1876. Miller was one of two raiders who were shot and killed in the raid.

Man arrested after shots fired at deputy in Northfield

Law enforcement officials say that a manhunt has resulted in the arrest of a suspect who they believe robbed an America’s Best Value Inn and Suites early Monday morning and shot at a Rice County deputy. A woman suspected of being an accomplice was arrested earlier. A number of agencies were involved in the search for the man.
