Nye's is gone but its polka band has a new home: Can Can Wonderland

The World's Most Dangerous Polka Band built up a devoted following at the late, great Nye's Polonaise Room.

St. Paul is getting more dangerous. Especially on Friday nights.

Can Can Wonderland – the new entertainment emporium centered around an indoor, artist-designed mini golf course – says the World's Most Dangerous Polka Band is becoming a Friday night fixture in its building in the Hamline Midway neighborhood.

The polka band has a devoted following from its decades as the house band at Nye's Polonaise Room, the restaurant and nightspot in northeast Minneapolis. Nye's closed last spring after more than 60 years of business to make way for housing.

The World's Most Dangerous Polka Band has stayed active since then, performing at American Legion posts, Mia (aka the Minneapolis Institute of Arts), First Avenue, and the Turf Club in St. Paul, among other gigs.

Can Can Wonderland says they'll perform from 7-10 p.m. every Friday on their Bauhaus Brew Labs Boardwalk.

Here's a sampling of their danger to whet your appetite:
