Walker Art Center director Olga Viso has been nominated by President Barack Obama to become a member of the National Council on the Arts. Viso has been director of the Walker since 2008.

Walker Art Center director Olga Viso has been nominated by President Barack Obama to become a member of the National Council on the Arts, reports the Pioneer Press.

Viso took over as director of the Walker in 2008.

Viso will join Minnesota dancer and choreographer Ranee Ramaswamy on the council, the Pioneer Press says.
