Officer-involved shooting follows large fight at event center


The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office is investigating an officer-involved shooting that sent one person to an area hospital. The incident, which occurred Saturday night in Brooklyn Park, remains under investigation.

The Star Tribune says that Brooklyn Park officers responded to a large fight in the 7300 block of Lakeland Av. N. at about 11:12 p.m. FOX 9 reports the incident broke out at a Brooklyn Park event center. KSTP reports it was at the Sisaket Oriental Market.

After police arrived, gunshots were fired. One person was injured. Sheriff's spokeswoman Jennifer Johnson didn't immediately know his condition Sunday or whether the injury was considered life-threatening. No arrests have been made.

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office has taken over the investigation of the incident at the request of the Brooklyn Park Police Department.
