Officials ask for help finding teen missing for 2 weeks

She was last seen at Perham High School on Jan. 27.

Officials are asking for help finding a 16-year-old girl who is believed to have run away nearly two weeks ago.

Lucia Tiahre Garcia was last seen at Perham High School around noon on Jan. 27, but she didn't return home that evening, a news release from the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office says.

Officials do believe she is a runaway, and could be in Otter Tail County or in the Alexandria area. Lt. Keith Van Dyke told GoMN Lucia has run away before, but they're concerned because she hasn't contacted with family or friends in the past week.

Van Dyke says they're hoping people will spread the word that they're looking for her, and that Lucia will see this and realize it's serious and come home.

Lucia is described as being 5-foot-5, weighing 105 pounds, and has brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing jeans, short brown boots and a white winter jacket with a fur-lined hood.

The sheriff's office is asking anyone with information on where the teenager is to contact them at 218-998-8555.
