Officials seek public's help identifying driver after woman falls out of car window

Author:

The Minnesota State Patrol is asking for the public's help in figuring out who was behind the wheel when a female passenger fell out a window of a moving car on a southeastern Minnesota highway over the weekend.

Saralyn Squillace, 23, of Rochester, suffered non-life threatening injuries when she fell out a window of the black Hyundai Sonata on Highway 52 at County Road 40 near Chatfield around 5:30 p.m. on July 19, according to the State Patrol’s incident report.

Officials told the Star Tribune all three passengers in the car had been drinking.

A post on the State Patrol's Facebook page Wednesday says "the vehicle's two other occupants allegedly admitted to driving and then later changed their stories and began pointing fingers at each other."

And now the State Patrol is looking for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who had stopped to help. Anyone with information is urged to call them at 507-285-7410, and ask for Sgt. Bill Sires or Trooper Lee Gear.

The identities of the other two in the car haven’t been released, but the Star Tribune is reporting they included a 24-year-old woman from Racine, Minnesota, and a 21-year-old man from Rochester.
