OMG it's so fluffy and round! (We're talking about chinchilla butts, of course)

OMG, look at her butt. (Chilla's got back.)

Just this week, it appears the internet has taken an interest in chinchilla butts.

Not in a creepy way, though. People are just noticing how fluffy and perfectly round they are.

Okay, maybe that's a little weird. But just look at that butt! The internet has put together full galleries of butts here, and here, and here (they're all chinchilla butts, don't worry).

In case you don't really know what a chinchilla is – it's a super fuzzy, adorable critter that's native to the Andes Mountains in South America. They've been domesticated and are often kept as pets.

Here's another fact that might make the little rump even more appealing: chinchillas are considered the softest animal in the entire world. They have about 50 super fine hairs in each follicle (humans only have a couple hairs per follicle). In fact, chinchilla fur is so fine and dense that the animals can't get wet so they bath in ash.
