On a hot July night, a Houston County sheriff’s deputy behind the wheel of a Dodge Charger, and a city of Caledonia officer driving a Crown Victoria, raced each other at the Caledonia municipal airport runway, the Winona Daily News reports. The Caledonia officer got a one-month suspension. But the Houston County deputy was not formally disciplined.

Off-duty Fridley police officer dies in motorcycle crash

"It's a sad day for Fridley," said Fridley Mayor Scott Lund about the death of Officer Barry Pankonin. Officers accused of handing out marijuana will not be charged

Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman says there will be no charges against officers accused of handing out marijuana to young men as part of an officer drug training program. The state found no evidence of misconduct and witnesses gave conflicting accounts of what occured.
