One dead, another in critical condition after Rochester shooting

A man is dead and a woman is in critical condition after a shooting in Rochester.

The Post Bulletin says neighbors and a person passing by saw the woman – described as being in her 40s – collapse outside a residence. When people got closer, they realized she was bleeding heavily.

Thinking she'd been stabbed, witnesses called the police, the paper reports.

Officials found the woman on a sidewalk at the 2900 block of 9th Avenue in northwest Rochester. KTTC says police determined she had been shot multiple times. The woman was taken to Mayo Clinic Hospital for surgery.

Witnesses also reported a man had been walking away from the residence.

The station says a man in his 70s has been found dead in a nearby pickup truck. Police tell KTTC he appears to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police would not confirm to the the Post Bulletin whether or not the man is responsible for shooting the woman; however, officials say they are not looking for any suspects, ABC 6 says.

Authorities also haven't confirmed the relationship between the two, but they told the paper the man did not live at the residence with the woman.

One man is dead in Central Minnesota, officers shoot alleged gunman

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office and Rockville Police Department are investigating a shooting that left one man dead in central Minnesota early Sunday morning. Fox 9 reports deputies found the suspected shooter nearby and shot him at least three times when he didn't listen to commands. Officials say the suspect was taken to St. Cloud Hospital, but there is no word on his condition.
