Do you have some Christian Loboutin's you no longer wear? An Hermes bag collecting dust in your closet?
Chances are you probably don't, but if you do and are looking to pass it on to a new owner, a store is opening in Edina this fall that will take it off your hands and give you a cut of the proceeds.
Chicago-based Luxury Garage Sale is anything but a regular consignment store, it deals only in high-end clothing and accessories – women's in-store and men's online – and according to the Business Journal it has signed a lease to open up a new store at 5051 France Ave. S.
According to its website, Luxury Garage Sale used "new and gently-used designer and vintage clothing and accessories," and was founded by childhood Brielle Buchberg and Lindsay Segal, both of whom have backgrounds in fashion, retail and styling.
Someone handing over their piece of high fashion can expect a 60 percent commission upon sale, the The Business Journal notes, with the store expected to feature an even split of used and new merchandise.
The retailer, dubbed the "Rolls-Royce of garage sales," was boosted by a $5 million injection by investors in June allowing it to expand into more cities, the Minnesota Monthly reports, and in previous years it has had pop-up stores in the 50th and France area.
Items currently for sale on its website include a $1,295 Prada mink coat, $550 Gucci men's leather Chelsea boots, and a $2,695 Louis Vuitton grey handbag (which retails at $4,450).
