Police in Bloomington investigating a Wednesday morning fatal car fire say an open container of gasoline was in the front seat, FOX 9 and the Star Tribune report.

Investigators have not yet identified the woman who died in the blaze. Witnesses said they heard what sounded like explosions as the SUV went up in flames at the intersection of Old Cedar Road and 86th Street at about 8:15 a.m.

Investigators told FOX 9 the driver had two gallons of uncapped gasoline in the front seat, but they had not definitively determined how that played a role in the fire.

There was no car accident prior to the fire, officials have said.
