Oreo O's cereal is coming back – finally

Having Oreos for breakfast is possible again.

Post Consumer Brands, which is based in Lakeville, Minnesota, is bringing back Oreo O's cereal – a decade after it was taken off store shelves.

And people are excited.

If you don't remember having Oreo O's as a kid (sorry if that's the case), maybe this 1998 commercial starring Shia LaBeouf will help you remember.

The cereal was first released in 1998, but was rudely taken away from us in 2007 due to "organizational changes," Post said, according to Mashable.

In a statement to GoMN, Post said people around the world have been asking for the cereal for the past decade, and the cereal maker promises a similar taste to the Oreo O's you had as a kid.

You'll be able to get the chocolatey, O-shaped cereal with a creme coating starting June 23 – for the first three months, it'll only be sold at Walmart, Popsugar says. By January, the cereal will be available at grocery stores nationwide, Post told GoMN.

You can use this store locator to find where the closest box of Oreo O's is being sold.

The cereal's return comes after Post partnered with Mondelez International, the company that makes Oreo cookies. The two brands also teamed up to launch a new cereal that tastes like S'mores – it's called Honey Maid S'mores.

Post Consumer Brands launched in 2015 after Post Holdings Inc. acquired Lakeville-based MOM Brands Co. and merged the two cereal companies together. Post is now the third-largest cereal maker in the country, the Business Journal says.
