P.O.S. debuts a new song as part of the Black Panther comic video series

Black Panther: A Nation Under our Feet is currently being helmed by Ta-Nehisi Coates – award-winning author of the book Between the World and Me.

Just a few days before his newest album drops, Twin Cities rapper P.O.S. debuted a new track as part of a video tied to the Black Panther comics.

The Black Panther: A Nation Under Our Feet comic series is being helmed by Ta-Nehisi Coates – award-winning author of the recent book Between the World and Me, and a national social/cultural/political correspondent for The Atlantic.

Marvel has a monthly video companion series going for Black Panther. In the latest, P.O.S. debuts "Born a Snake," which is on his upcoming album Chill, dummy (out Jan. 27).

In the video, Coates talks about part nine of the Black Panther series. The book's art gets some animation work to really make it pop, all while the heavy drums and feedback of the P.O.S. track drive things forward.

On Twitter, P.O.S. – real name Stefon Alexander – said he's "honored to be a part of this ????????." He expanded in a news release from Marvel.

"In crazy and unprecedented times like we are living in right now, I think the Black Panther comic is more important than ever," he said. "Not just for young black comic book reading kids, but really for everyone of all races and ages.... In my humble opinion, Coates, his ideas, and these characters should be celebrated by everyone. The more examples and shades of blackness available, the better and I am honored to be a part of this."

You can get Chill, dummyhere via Doomtree's website, and on iTunes/Amazon/Google Play etc. The album has cameos from Allan Kingdom, Astronautalis, Kathleen Hanna, Justin Vernon, Open Mike Eagle, Busdriver, and Lady Midnight. He'll perform songs from the new album at 7th St Entry on Friday.
