A 9-year-old girl and a 21-year-old man were injured after they were thrown from a private tram along the St. Croix River Wednesday.

A boat rescue team reached the two and took them to Wolf Marina in Stillwater , where they were then taken by ambulance to Regions Hospital in St. Paul.

KSTP reports the tram is used to take residents of the property on Triangle Drive from the top of a bluff down to the river.

The St. Croix County Sheriff's Office told the TV station the tram started malfunctioning as it was finishing its descent to the bottom, and fell the rest of the way.
