Author:

A winter storm is bringing snow to different parts of the state Sunday and a wintry mix to the Twin Cities metro area, Star Tribune reports.

According to the National Weather Service, the winter storm bearing down on the Minnesota may end up producing as much as four to 12 inches of snow, depending on locations in the state.

Freezing rain and sleet falling in the metro is expected to snow later in the day, the Star Tribune says. The Twin Cities metro area is expected to get anywhere from four to eight inches of snow.

The winter storm was expected to bring blizzard conditions to western Minnesota and cause dangerous driving conditions.

The southeastern part of the state may also be subject to freezing rain, with about two inches is anticipated by Monday morning, the NWS says.

Here are the most recent updates from KARE, KMSPKSTP and WCCO.

The snow is expected to last into Monday and will likely affect the morning commute.

Moving into this week, Minnesota is expected to get a surge of arctic air, which will once again result in colder temperatures.
