Passerby, sheriff's deputy pull a woman from a burning home

A passerby and an Isanti County sheriff's deputy pulled a woman from a burning home in central Minnesota Monday morning.

The victim, who hasn't been identified, was airlifted from Maple Ridge Township (just northeast of Princeton) to the Hennepin County Medical Center and is in critical condition, the sheriff's office said on Facebook.

WCCO says the woman is 81 years old.

Officials said Isanti County dispatch received a report of an attached garage on fire just after 8 a.m. Monday, and another caller reported a family member was still inside the home, which was also on fire.

The passerby and the deputy, along with several family members, were treated for smoke inhalation and minor injuries, officials said.

Braham Fire Department was assisted by fire departments in Mora, Cambridge and Dalbo to put out the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. This is the second house fire in the past week, the sheriff's office told KSTP.
