Pedestrian in critical condition after being hit by a cab in downtown Minneapolis


A man is hospitalized in critical condition after he was struck by a taxi cab early Sunday morning.

The Star Tribune reports the victim was run over as he crossed Hennepin Avenue in downtown Minneapolis shortly after 3 a.m.

KSTP reports the person who was hit was with two other people who were running across the 800 block of Hennepin near the Brave New Workshop comedy theater.

The unnamed victim was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center with serious injuries, police added.

Several witnesses have been interviewed by authorities. Minneapolis police are investigating several factors that contributed to the incident.
