Man killed after being struck by semi on Hwy 169

Author:

A Minneapolis man was seen jumping into the path of a semi before he was hit and killed on Hwy. 169 in Bloomington Wednesday morning, the Star Tribune reports.

The Minnesota State Patrol says 45-year-old Danh C. Le was apparently outside his parked car on the shoulder of northbound Hwy. 169 near Pioneer Trail before he was struck by the semi's trailer.

"He dove into that space and got spit out the back," Debra Halenback of Belle Plaine told the newspaper.

Lt. Jason Bartell says he doesn't want to speculate about whether Le intended to be run over.

The northbound lanes of the highway were closed until shortly afternoon while authorities investigated the crash.
