Pedestrian lying on northern Minnesota road killed by vehicle

The Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office says a pedestrian lying on a roadway in Northern Township near Bemidji died after being struck by a vehicle early Saturday morning. Authorities say Tyler Blake Cummings, 21, of Bemidji died after being struck by a car driven by Samantha Ruth Pender, 19, also of Bemidj, at about 3 a.m.

Among the latest victims was Cléo Thiberge, a 19-year-old college student from France who had just arrived in the Twin Cities when she was struck by a vehicle in St. Paul.

Man electrocuted in freak accident at northern Minnesota boatlift

A 22-year-old man died in northern Minnesota Tuesday after a freak accident on Lake Pokegama in Cohasset. The Itasca County Sheriff's Office says Robert Stoen of Owatonna was electrocuted after an extension cord fell into the water from a boatlift. Two other people were injured in the mishap.
